Faith. When faced with the pressure of making difficult decisions, to whom do you turn for support and guidance? Faith in God, is the act of putting your trust, your confidence, your hope in Him when you are seeking answers to difficult questions. It's starts by setting time aside, even though the events of the day are hectic, to stop and talk to Him, ask Him questions and to have Him show you the way. Starting any day like this is good advice. The prayers can be as simple or complicated as you like, whatever you say to Him, in whatever way you say it, you can be sure that He is listening, that He cares about you and that He will respond to you. "Lord, today I have got to find a nursing home for my mother, where do I go?" "Lord, lead me to someone that can help me with all the paperwork." "Lord, today I need extra strength." Simply open your heart to Him, tell Him exactly how you feel and what you need, and then listen for His voice. The listening part of prayer is sometimes forgotten. We ask God a question and then we hurry off before He can answer, or He can't get a word in edgewise. Take a few minutes to sit quietly and wait on Him. In a crisis this is easier said than done but try to do it. During times of crises our faith can be shaken. In addition to prayer, find someone who has been through this process and ask them to walk with you. If you don't know anyone, contact us and we will help you find someone. Very few decisions concerning the future and welfare of a dependent loved-one will be easy or clear. Having someone beside you, who has had to make similar decisions will be a source of comfort for you. In times of decision and crisis, we need to strengthen our faith, through prayer, through friendships, and through reading the Bible.
