UNO’s Athletes and Elders is really getting going in 2011!

UNO’ s Athletic teams will be visiting nursing homes or assisted living facilities in the Fall of 2011, bringing cookies and drinks with them to share as they spend some time getting acquainted with the great older adults that call these facilities home.

The plan: to share with these frail, institutionalized older adults a bit about the upcoming season and a bit about themselves while also hearing about the lives of the older adult. It is an opportunity for inter-generational contact and a time to say with just a bit of presence,

“You are significant.”
